John Galbraith: nearly 50 years later Bush proves him Right!

In the 1950s, John Kenneth Galbraith cautioned that corporations were becoming too powerful. In the 1960s he warned President Kennedy about the dangers of unilateral military action abroad. blockquote> Son of a bitch!
He continually criticized conservative administrations' fiscal policies. He tried to bring environmental issues into the limelight. blockquote> Son of a bitch!

"He was a half of a century ahead of his time," said his biographer, Richard Parker.

His influence remained relevant long after his 1958 work "The Affluent Society" argued that the American economy produced individual wealth but did not adequately address public needs such as schools. blockquote> Son of a bitch!

The Canadian-born economist and unabashed liberal served as adviser to Democratic Presidents from Franklin D. Roosevelt to Bill Clinton and was John F. Kennedy's ambassador to India.
Galbraith, who was outspoken in his support of government intervention in social and economic problems, became a larger figure on the American political scene after World War II. blockquote>
How the hell can you justify ignoring a source of wealth like this?

,blockquote Although an economist, his impact reached far beyond economic circles. He thought across disciplines, Benjamin Freeman, a Harvard economics professor and friend of Galbraith's said, "Not just in the field (of economics), but broadening the discourse to encompass the world at large."

With having advised the likes of Presidents Roosevelt, Kennedy, and Clinton I think he had a proven record of success.
His 1958 work "The Affluent Society" argued that the American economy produced individual wealth but did not adequately address public needs such as schools. blockquote> Son of a bitch!

* He hit the nail on the head and here it is nearly 50 years later and we have to have bush prove it out on us. john Kenneth was 50 Years ahead of his time! We can only wish bush knew this and cared about the publics needs! son of a bitch!

What to Think about Nuestro Himno? and Thoughts About Tomorrows Protests!

The initial version of "Nuestro Himno," or "Our Anthem," came out Friday and uses lyrics based closely on the English-language original.
Pro-immigration protests are planned around the country for Monday and Hispanic radio stations nationwide are being urged to play the cut at 7 p.m. EDT Friday in a sign of solidarity.

James Gardner, an associate director of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, said Americans have long enjoyed different interpretations of the Star Spangled Banner, including country or gospel arrangements.
3rd Link, blockquote

I don't know what I think about the song but I think it is okay to sing the Star Spangled Banner in another language! Would we have the same response if it was Indian or some other language. I understand there are some controversial words and phrases in the song but if it were purely to get people to understand our anthem then I see no problem at all. If not? You decide!
Following are the words to Nuestro Himno "Our Anthem"
An English translation of "Nuestro Himno":
Verse 1
The day is breaking, do you see it? In the light of the dawn?
What we so acclaimed at nightfall?
Its stars, its stripes, flew yesterday
In the fierce battle in a sign of victory,
The glow of battle, in step with liberty
At night they said: "It's being defended!"
Chorus
Oh say!
The voice of your starry beauty
is still unfolding
Over the land of the free
The sacred flag
Verse 2
Its stars, its stripes,
Freedom, we are equal
We are brothers, in our anthem.
In the fierce combat in a sign of victory
The glow of battle, in step with liberty
My people keep fighting
It's time to break the chains
At night they said: "It's being defended!"
Oh say!
Your starry beauty is still unfolding.
1stlink, blockquote

President Bush had a message yesterday for people who want to sing the national anthem in Spanish: No way, Jose! I'm not sure I understand why? I'm not sure that is the issue!

I have heard versions that are questionable! Brothers and Sisters, we are Latinos, Papa. these kids have no parents because of these mean laws. Let's not start a war with all these hard workers, they can't help where they were born. My people keep fighting. It's time to break the chains.
2nd link, blockquote

I will not be shopping monday. The protests tomorrow bear watching at the very least. We as average Americans can learn much from these protests regardless of which side of the issue you are on whith Nuestro Himno or the pro legalization protests tomorrow.
The time is coming where we may need these people on our side as we will find it necessary to go to the streets ourselves in our effort to take back the country and avoid further destruction and possible world war caused by Bush's followed Russian Doctrine of destruction.

In Iraq: Who the hell Is Talking to Who? We can't Trust Bush! Is Zawahiri More Believable?

You think your going crazy already, You want to go crazy listen to this latest crap!

U.S. forces killed a local leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq and captured another in raids north of Baghdad on Thursday and Friday, dealing a blow to the insurgent organization's leadership in the violent city of Samarra, Iraqi police and U.S. military authorities said.
Link,blockquote!

We also have bush in today's Presidential address stupidly declaring we are winning in Iraq!
At the same time this latest tape comes out declaring the exact opposite!

Ayman al-Zawahiri, al Qaeda's second-in-command, praises the fighters in Iraq and claims the insurgency has broken the back of the U.S. military. He also urges Pakistanis to topple their president, whom he calls a "bribe-taking, treacherous criminal," in the tape.
link, blockquote!

To make us think that Zawahiri may be right we then hear this from an Iraqi adviser!

"By the end of next year, the overwhelming majority of coalition forces would have left the country and probably by the middle of 2008 there will be no foreign soldiers in the country."
link,blockquote!

Then to screw your mind up a little more, we keep hearing of permanent U.S. bases!

As of mid-2005, the U.S. military had 106 forward operating bases in Iraq, including what the Pentagon calls 14 "enduring" bases (twelve of which are located on the map) – all of which are to be consolidated into four mega-bases. Check out the map on the link!
link, blockquote!

I hope those bases are for the Iraqi's! Who the hell is talking to who? Is Zawahiri talking to Iraq's senior adviser? We know we can't believe bush! is Zawahiri more believeble?
What the Fuck!!!

Bush's Proposed Bandaid on his created Gash: Another Facade!

In hearing that Bush wants the ability to impose a minimum gas mileage on manufacturers of cars my first thought was please, please, please, don't let him do anything anymore. Everytime he does, we all pay!
Then I started researching this and found out just how much we are paying and why!

Bush's Bandaid: Bush called on Congress to give him the authority to set the standards for passenger cars sold in the United States as a means of reducing the nation's demand for gasoline and supposedy reducing the cost of gas. insert link here

Bush’s ruminations on “price gouging” are ludicrous. It was Bush who spearheaded this monstrous rip-off, now he’s pretending to defend the common man by playing “consumer-advocate.”
The actual cost at the pump is $12 per gallon. Think of it as the Bush Gas Tax, a boondoggle that quadruples the price of gas while killing 2,400 American servicemen and 100,000 Iraqis in the process. please look at this short explanation, it surprised me!
insert link here

While Bush is screwing around, Nigeria signed a deal giving China four oil drilling licences in exchange for a commitment to invest $4bn in infrastructure. Niger, called the biggest gas station on earth is important to China and the U.S. this makes things even worse for us. This is important to our costs, not the facade of concern for car gas mileage. Link

Bush is costing us a lot more than we realize: The plan to steal Iraq’s oil puts Bush’s farcical “on-air” burlesque into perspective. US foreign policy is driven by the oil industry, just as the decision to invade was made on the basis of peak oil, not WMD.
Now that gas is topping $3 per gallon, we should consider the heavy price the American people have paid to ensure that profits continue to soar for the oil giants.
In 2002, before the war, Saddam was producing 2.6 million barrels of oil per day even with the debilitating sanctions still in place. Currently, (given the success of Iraqi resistance attacks on pipelines) Iraqi oil production has dropped to a meager 1.1 million barrels per day.
In other words, Bush’s war has taken 1.5 million barrels a day “offline”; the precise amount the global market requires to reduce prices to the $45 per barrel range.
Consider this: the United States has spent roughly $300 billion on the war so far. At 1.1 million barrels per day (396 million barrels per year) we are currently spending $274 per barrel which translates into $12 per gallon at the pump.
Twelve dollars per gallon!!!

We have got to stop letting Bush lie to us and get away with it! We have to stop this idiot now!

An awful lot to swallow in Just One Small part Of Our increasingly volatile Political Day!

This is a good thing! Tuesday Saudi Arabia has pledged $90 million in emergency aid to the cash-strapped Palestinian Authority.

This is a good thing for our troops safety! BAGHDAD, Iraq - The U.S. military said Tuesday it has issued new orders to private contractors in Iraq to crack down on violations of human trafficking laws involving laborers brought in from around the world to work on American bases and other sites.

This is a good thing for America! ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Senate's Democratic minority on Tuesday threatened to end this year's pork-barrel and other discretionary spending worth hundreds of millions of dollars unless the Republicans who control the chamber detail the spending before a floor vote.

Another good thing for America! Rumsfeld's incompetence and his willingness to sacrifice problem solving for politics has created a common enemy for both hawk and dove, the right and the left. His Demise is being increasingly called for by Retired Generals and politicians alike.

She Could have been talking about us! "We have no argument with the Iranian people," Rice said. "They deserve better than they are currently seeing from their government because the actions of their government are isolating Iran further and further."Replace America for Iran!

A good thing for America! President George W. Bush's approval rating, which fell yesterday to a record low in a CNN poll, has declined steadily since the start of 2005 as dissatisfaction with the course of the Iraq war has increased. he is down to 24% approval, still too high!

Just another waste of time! WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush, under pressure about high gasoline prices, has ordered an investigation into possible cheating in the markets

* This is just a smidgeon as you all see it every day, of one day in the new volatile world of life in our Americaand the world much with thanks to Bush!! Oh woe Is Us! Hold on it will get worse before it gets better! *Bin Laden, Zarqawi, Darfur, our illegal immigration issue! Gee! You all have a nice day!

Muslim World sticks It To Bush And Comes To Palestinian's Rescue! Congratulations!

DOHA - Palestinian Foreign Minister Mahmoud al-Zahar said on Tuesday Saudi Arabia has pledged $90 million in emergency aid to the cash-strapped Palestinian Authority. He told reporters in the Qatari capital Doha that Kuwait has also pledged $7.5 million to the government.

Also stepping up, Qatar has been one of a few Arab states to publicly announce it was donating $50 million to the Palestinian Authority. Iran has also said it was giving a similar amount.

The European Union and the United States have cut off direct aid to the Palestinian Authority over Hamas's refusal to recognise Israel, renounce violence and accept interim peace deals.

The minister is on a tour of Arab and Muslim countries to drum up funds to fill in the gap created after Israel suspended transfer of tax revenues to the Palestinian Authority and Western donors cut off aid to the Hamas-led government.

The money will be used to fund hospitals, schools and buy medicine," Zahar said."It's just a matter of logistics," he added, when asked when the money would be delivered. "We are talking about days not weeks."

I must say that I for one am really happy to see muslim Nations coming to the aid of Palestine. myself I am not against Palestine, Israel, or any one else.
I am merely for everyone doing the right thing so we are all able to survive. Doing the right thing is of short supply in America and the world today.

The Arab world does something we have been unable to do. They Stick it to Bush!

This time Gasoline Price Gouging:Just One more Facade Of Concern!

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush, under pressure about high gasoline prices, has ordered an investigation into possible cheating in the markets.
During the last few days, Bush asked his Energy and Justice departments to open inquiries into whether the price of gasoline has been illegally manipulated, said White House press secretary Scott McClellan. Bush planned to announce the action Tuesday during a speech in Washington at 10:05 a.m. ET.
Add Link here

We are sick of the jokes! We know we are being raped. We don't need a fake inquiry. as in every instance with this Administration it will find nothing and no one did anything wrong.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-California, dismissed Hastert's and Frist's letter as "empty rhetoric." calling for an investigation into price gouging.
"With skyrocketing gas prices, it is clear that the American people can no longer afford the Republican Rubber Stamp Congress and its failure to stand up to Republican big oil and gas company cronies," Pelosi said in a written statement. "With record gas prices, record CEO pay packages, and record oil company profits, Speaker Hastert and the Republican Congress continue to give the American people empty rhetoric rather than join Democrats who are working to lower gas prices now."
Insert link here

We can all agree with Nancy Pelosi! Now that Republicans are even more concerned about their reelection prospects they want to make it look like they care. What's new!

* Get rid of them and then we can start some real action! We do not need another fake Republican investigation where we know there is corruption but our money will be spent and no one did anything!
*They just all got accidently filthy rich while we were being scalped! No Inquiry necessary!

Bin Laden's latest Message: Continue To outsmart The Decider!

This only seems difficult for the American lower classes.
Bin laden has been doing it for years. His latest message fires a shot across Bush's Bow.

Bush stupidly opened a second front when we shouldn't have and couldn't afford to strategically.

In bin Laden's latest recording it it is from him, he is wisely calling for his supporters to open a 3rd front in Dafur. A wise thing considering Bush already has us over extended.
insert link here

Even though the war there is Muslim against Muslim he is telling his people we are against the Muslims there. It should tell them that knowing it is Muslim against muslim that they cannot even tolerate each other.

My thought is that his followers will follow his request. I think that the NATO Nations that have not come through by helping bush's misconceived Iraq war, should be held accountible to quell any insugency successfully cultivated in Dafur.

Bush continues to stupidly say that Bin Laden is weakened and on the run. As you know, that is worthless and he is merely playing to his audience.
Who cares, unless we have a body he is still talking. That is all thet matters! As far as I am concerned Bin Laden Is beating the Decider at his own game. This is still just starting, Bush has already over extended us, and now Bin Laden will carry it even further. And what about Iran?

Iran's Nuclear activities Irreversible and they are prepared To Suffer the Consequences!

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on the 11th the country had succeeded in enriching uranium on a small scale for the first time, using 164 centrifuges. That announcement defies demands by the UN Security Council that Iran shut down its nuclear program this month.
Iran has informed the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency that it plans to construct 3,000 centrifuges at Natanz next year.

Undestandably people are not concerned with Iran becoming a nuclear nation soon but now think about this! Russia says only the U. N. can make it stop its nuclear cooperation with Iran!
Add link here:

Ali Asghar Soltanieh, envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency, "spoke of a basic agreement between Iran and Russia to set up a joint uranium enrichment firm on Russian soil,"
Iran has vowed it would never give up its right under the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty to enrich uranium and produce nuclear fuel.

Iran's uranium enrichment and nuclear research and development activities are irreversible," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi told a news conference and we are prepared to suffer the Consequences.

Instead of being humble and gracious they chose to be brag and heighten contention with Russia as they always do with every one.

1971,2006: 35 years later the Game has changed: The "Rumsfeld Problem Remains!

I for one was a little surprised even for these two faced, talk out of both sides if your mouth while your foot is in it, Repugs in Bushco.

1971 the White House was mired in a war it could not win. There was enormous public pressure to bring the troops home and the White House was split about what to do.
Then president Richard Nixon was particularly annoyed with a White House staffer who had opposed the war.
Heading the small group that wanted to end the war more quickly than did secretary of state Henry Kissinger and Mr Nixon was a former congressman named Donald Rumsfeld. Mr Nixon called it "the Rumsfeld problem" and in a conversation with his chief-of-staff, Bob Haldeman, said: "I think Rumsfeld may be not too long for this world."

Much to our dissapointment Haldeman was wrong. The problem remains and now on the side of sanctioning war, is worse than ever.
Now Mr Rumsfeld, as US Defence Secretary, appears to have the support of his President against a chorus of former generals who have called for his resignation — not to mention the legion of critics outside the military making him and Bush a nightmarish team!

Rumsfeld's and Bush's mistakes have led to the insurgency that has cost more than 2000 American lives and has led to the brink, if not the reality, of a civil war in Iraq. Knowing Rummy was involved during Vietnam I am blown away he has learned nothing and is now willfully indulging in many of the same supid mistakes with himself as the perpetrator.

All of a sudden Rummy likes war and this one will spread throughout the entire middle east at the very least, making this President a happy man!!

Quote Of the Day! Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction. -Blaise Pascal!

We all see this and know it first hand but we can not harp on it enough as we must put an end to what is haapening today!
I have been saying this for years now. Extreme unbridled religiosity is the most powerful dangerous weapon in the world. It doesn't matter what religion it is. We have it being expressed in the Muslim world by the Islamists being accused of hijacking their Nation and religion.

Worse is that we have it on the other side of the argument today being pushed by Bush and his warped sense of Christian fundamentalism and corrupt democracy. the worse part is that Bush has hijacked Christianity and America and is in control of the (for now), most powerful country on the planet.
This at a time when the planet and man can no longer survive the terrible effects of world or worse, nuclear war. This would be turning back the clock of time and the planet like man and all of nature only run in one direction, forward.

We are acutely aware as to the increased fragility of our planet, it’s necessary for our survival ecosystems, and the fact that the planet is now capable of destroying mans life as we know it without his help! Worse is that we appear to be ignoring all this and purposely seem to be bringing man and the planet down the wrong road as pointed out by Nostradamus. That is the road to world conflict and man’s end as we know it.
Even worse is that Both sides of the equation are bent on the destruction of man and the planet, and the U.S. more pointedly Bush, seems to be recklessly, willingly, and wantonly leading the way.

We are still Waiting for Our Shining LIGHT To Lead Us Out of This Ever darkening Tunnel Of Bush's

With the Retired Generals call for Rummy's resignation being ignored as expected.

With the threat of an extended war in at least the middle east. Maybe even Nuclear!

With the most recent signs of bush's victory against so called terrorism in Iraq.

With insurgency on the increase in Afghanistan thanks to Bush purposely opening an unnecessary front in Iraq and creating a war on bush created insurgents.

With Bush insisting on staying in Iraq until we achieve the victory those of us with a little sense knew from the start would never be achieved.

Besides knowing that at the very least there will be a complete meltdown of the middle east if we do not have some interventio in this country from someone who can lead us.

* The growing bush created crisis is hitting critical mass. We need more than ever , someone to intervene on what the President is doing to us and the world. We see the obvious road of destruction he is preparing us and the world to go down at a point when the planet is already in critical health. It can not survive the use of even limited nuclear weapon use.
What the hell is wrong with Bush? Al gore in his new movie has expressed his knowledge and concern as to the fragility of the Planet. He knows the planet can not survive this and still be ecologically habitable. Al Gore is the man we could rally around! Even Republicans must realize how frail the planet is?
We need someone to stand up against Bush and we must all support whoever it is. Our future, thee future of America, the future of the world, the planet itself, is depandent on it!

* When I first started calling for this people belittled me. now more and more people are realizing that this is no joke Bush has the world involved with. we must act before it is too late!

Can Republican Firebrands really Believe the Things They Say Or Is It just For Effect?

First I want to say another liar bites the dust as McClellan hands in his resignation. Sorry this is NewsMax! http://www.newsmax.com/
This has got to be the stupidest answer I have heard as to the Illegal immigrants since I heard Bush wanted to build a stupid wall on the Border. Coulter as we know is just a ranting idiot!
I started getting these NewsMax Emails every day for some reason. Looking at it just this once I realized why people still believe little Bush. There are people like Coulter and Limbaugh willing to say any stupid thing.
Looking at this asinine statement that we should have the illegals build the wall to keep them out. I started thinking! Knowing how stupid an idea this and the wall is, these people have to be purposely trying to be funny or stupid or something. No one can really believe all this crap can they?
1. Ann Coulter: Have Illegals Build Border Wall
Firebrand author Ann Coulter has an answer for illegal immigration apologists who say it's simply too expensive to build a wall across the entire U.S.-Mexican border: Hire illegal aliens already in the U.S. to help with the construction.
Asked how she would solve the illegal immigration problem, Coulter told Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly on Thursday: "I'd build a wall. In fact, I'd hire illegal immigrants to build the wall."
Coulter told O'Reilly that she also favors deporting illegal aliens wherever they turn up, noting that immigration authorities missed a perfect opportunity to get a head start on the effort with the recent wave of pro-illegal protests.
"We could have done it very easily in the last week," she explained. "You could have just sent paddy wagons to the protests."
As outrageous as Coulter's comments may seem, her views on illegal immigration are firmly in the mainstream of U.S. public opinion.
A Time magazine poll released last weekend showed 56 percent of those surveyed support building a wall along the entire 2,000-mile Mexican border. Just 40 percent opposed.
Even on the question of deporting illegal immigrants, Coulter is in the majority. Asked whether the U.S. would be better off if "all illegals" were deported, 51 percent of Americans said yes, with just 38 percent disagreeing.
this is one thing we all agree with I think: The controversial conservative said the disconnect between what the American people think about illegal immigration and what Washington plans to do is unprecedented.
"I've never seen an issue where public opinion seems so strongly on one side, but because of corporate interests, the government is acting the other way," she told O'Reilly. "How about putting this to a vote?"

For Any Change In Direction We must Get Rid Of Bush not His Staff!

Bush is a traitor to his religion and his country. Unless we get rid of him we are in serious trouble! He is the whole problem. His staff is just a reflection of his corruptive ineptitude and misguided fundamentalist democratic policies to change society and the world. Changing his Staff as is the next facade of concern will do nothing to get us back on track.
http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/04/17/bush.shake.up/

He is on his own agenda. He is following what I know as the doctine of destruction first used by the Russians in the mid 19th century. It is used only to replace existing order with what you think is a better idea. Bush's plan will stop at world and societal disorder because he is running out of time.
He has turned on America as we all loved and knew it. I have it updated but the update won't be on my site until next week. Here is the 31/2 year old original http://www.anaveragepatriot.com If you send me your email I will send you a copy of his plan and doctrine. It is not good for our legal lower classes or the world.

He has subverted Christianity to fill his own selfish desires. He has done to America and christianity what he accuses the Islamists of doing to Islam. He is out of control and every person of every party must do everything possible to get him out of office.
We must prevent this road to destruction he has purposely put us on. His own party must renounce him or we are in serios trouble. The Republicans must join us because they are in as much trouble as the rest of the country.
I have been saying it for years now but we are now running out of time. We must turn around this ship called America! Bush has her on the rocks and threatens to sink her if we do not turn her around!

Nuclear attack On Iran Is A reality Not Speculation as Bush always Says!

I had something I wanted to discuss today but now that I see my worst fears called facts, I thought it very important that you all read this and look at the entire story at the link.
A startling new story by journalist Seymour Hersh reveals that the war criminal Bush administration may be feverishly preparing for new, even greater crimes: a possible attack on Iran, an attack which could involve nuclear weapons.
In the April 17 issue of the New Yorker, Hersh writes: “The Bush Administration, while publicly advocating diplomacy in order to stop Iran from pursuing a nuclear weapon, has increased clandestine activities inside Iran and intensified planning for a possible major air attack. Current and former American military and intelligence officials said that Air Force planning groups are drawing up lists of targets, and teams of American combat troops have been ordered into Iran, under cover, to collect targeting data and to establish contact with anti-government ethnic-minority groups. The officials say that President Bush is determined to deny the Iranian regime the opportunity to begin a pilot program, planned for this spring, to enrich uranium.”
Attack planning is "enormous," "hectic" and "operational,” according to former intelligence officials quoted by Hersh. “There is a growing conviction among members of the United States military, and in the international community, that President Bush’s ultimate goal in the nuclear confrontation with Iran is regime change,” Hersh reports. A European diplomatic advisor told him, “the United States wants regime change.”
Hersh reports that using nuclear weapons is a definite and real possibility: “One of the military’s initial option plans, as presented to the White House by the Pentagon this winter, calls for the use of a bunker-buster tactical nuclear weapon, such as the B61-11, against underground nuclear sites,” Hersh writes. A former intelligence official told him that whenever anybody tries to remove the nuclear option “they’re shouted down” by top Bush officials.
U.S. forces are already practicing nuclear bombing runs: “American Naval tactical aircraft, operating from carriers in the Arabian Sea, have been flying simulated nuclear-weapons delivery missions—rapid ascending maneuvers known as ‘over the shoulder’ bombing—since last summer...within range of Iranian coastal radars,”

We have all heard speculation as to clandestine operations in Iran so I tend to believe this!

Hersh writes.
U.S. WAR PLANNING—REAL AND IMMEDIATE
"What you're reading is wild speculation,” Bush told the media. This is yet another big lie. There is abundant evidence that the Bush regime’s planning for a possible attack is real and happening now.

We know this is not speculation because sadly we know bush and his ceaseless lies!

PREPARATIONS FOR REGIME CHANGE, NOT DISARMAMENT
Hersh reports that one former defense official told him that “military planning was premised on a belief that ‘a sustained bombing campaign in Iran will humiliate the religious leadership and lead the public to rise up and overthrow the government.

This is asinine! I refuse to believe Bush can be this stupid but we know he is!

STOP A WAR ON IRAN
One congressman told Hersh, "There’s no pressure from Congress" not to take military action, and added, "The only political pressure is from the guys who want to do it." Robert Dreyfuss (“Hawk-Tied Democrats” on www.tompaine.com) that “many (perhaps most) elected Democrats are demanding a confrontation with Iran, too. Some, such as Hillary Clinton, are even trying to out-Bush the president in demanding a showdown with Iran.”
People in the U.S. have the responsibility to step out NOW and oppose U.S. war plans against Iran with all their energy.

I am very dissappointed to find out there are Democrats calling for this too, What the Fuck!

Pope Benedict leads Easter Mass in Prayer of Futility!

Today is Easter! A day of hope for many. This morning I caught the Popes first Easter Mass and he was calling for peace around the world.
ROME, Italy (CNN) -- Benedict XVI has celebrated his first Easter Mass as pope and urged governments to find peaceful resolutions to their crises, placing special emphasis on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the need to end terrorism.
http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/europe/04/16/pope.easter/index.html

* As with the retired Generals I say save your breath. Bush, Ahmaadinejad, and other self agendad leaders do not care wht is right or what you or I think.

"In Iraq, may peace finally prevail over the tragic violence that continues mercilessly to claim victims," he said.
"I also pray sincerely that those caught up in the conflict in the Holy Land may find peace. And I invite all to patient and persevering dialogue in the Holy Land so as to remove both ancient and new obstacles, avoiding the temptations to revenge. And may they educate the new generations to mutual respect."
"May the international community, which reaffirms Israel's just right to exist in peace assist the Palestinian people to overcome the precarious conditions in which they live, and to build their future, moving toward the constitution of a state that is truly their own."
The pope also prayed that the spirit of Latin America be renewed so that the living conditions of millions of citizens may be improved, "the scourge of kidnappings eradicated, and democratic institutions be consolidated ... in a spirit of harmony and solidarity."
"May an honorable solution be found for all parties through serious and honest negotiations, and may the leaders of nations and international organizations be strengthened in their will to achieve peaceful coexistence among different races, cultures and religions, in order to remove the threat of terrorism."
http://www.hindu.com/thehindu/holnus/003200604161640.htm

* we are all trying to head of a further war to no avail. The "leaderers" as they call themselves,
do not care what the Pope, the Generals, You, I, the voice of reason thinks. They are all following their own course and the good of the world does not matter.

** it will not alter Wor;d events but keep praying, you never know and It is all you have!

Rumsfeld Blames insurgency on Turkey & Iran says U.S. Is Anti Technology! Say What?

Just A quick Side note first: I just heard on the radio that Rumsfeld blames the increased Iraqi insurgency on Turkey because thet did not allow us to attack through their country.
sorry, on link but What the Fuck? bush and Rummy are creating these insurgents!

*Iran's president on Friday slammed the United States and other countries as "against the advancement of technology and science" in his country, defending the nuclear program that has caused a firestorm of international controversy.
http://www.brudirect.com/DailyInfo/News/Archive/Apr06/160406/wn01.htm

Why would we be against them when all they want to do is attack the west, annihilate Israel, and help Bush embroil the world in WW3?

*Iran — The president of Iran again lashed out at Israel on Friday and said it was "heading toward annihilation," just days after Tehran raised fears about its nuclear activities by saying it successfully enriched uranium for the first time.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,191819,00.html

They want to Annihilate Israel and do their share as Bush is doing, to embroil the world in another World War!

Iran's announcement this week that it had made nuclear fuel, followed by the inconclusive visit to Tehran by the chief of the UN's nuclear watchdog, has left observers wondering what Iran will do next.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4911178.stm

I don't think we have to wonder what Iran will chose to do next. Stay the course i would assume!

Generals Coming out: Why and Net Effect Zero!

I come from a family where every single male does his time, some for life. Some as enlisted others as officers all the way through to WW1. My uncle won the Silver star on guadalcanal conducting night raids against the Japanese.
We have a long military history and having a feel for it seems to be something natural. It is my feeling that people are right believing that there is a special dedication to mission and men.
I was enlisted but my best friend in the military was a Full Bird Colonel who was my commander. He had an innate feeling for mission and his soldiers and knew how to cultivate both. If we were suffering he was right there with us.
When I got out he told me hot to survive in civilian life. I was crushed when I heard he had died shortly after of cancer. What I am getting at is that whatever an officer of rank especially a General officer thinks, is kept to himself, as you know, duty comes first especially if you care about your career.
Rummy always said that whatever the Generals on the ground want they will get. You can see how true that is like everything else in this misadministration. They knew they were being misled and misdirected but could not speak up until retired. It does not matter anyway.

Bush will continue to do as he pleases and Rummy will stap down but not until it looks like it was his decision and not due to pressure. One last word! The Generals are as some are pointing out, speaking out in hopes of preventing a war with Iran but that too will not work.
Bush will attack Iran regardless of what you, I, the Generals, or anyone else in this world thinks. You must have learned that from every crises turned Bush catastrophe he has created. Rummy is inept as a military leader. Bush is inept as a leader.
He is not a leader remember he is and always has been a cheerleader. I was horrified when he was elected but I had hopes that knowing he did not have the qualities to do the job he would be smart enough to surround himself with people who had leadership qualities.
Instead he surrounded himself with lackeys. he surrounded himself entirely with people like himself, Lying, corruptively inept, stumblebums. We are in trouble. We are winning nothing. Thanks to Bush this so called war on terror is just getting warmed up.
We will fail in Iraq, the civil war will spread throughout the middle east, We will be at war with Iran, and just watch Russia and China. Hold on!
